Pizza for Eikon
Most of you know that Sunday nights before Eikon begins, we meet at 5:30 for a time of fellowship that includes every teenager’s favorite word: PIZZA. For the youth, it means free pizza every Sunday right before Eikon begins. It doesn’t get much better than that. For parents, it means that we’re looking for volunteers to sign up for a Sunday to bring a few fresh pizzas to church for our students to devour.
If you’d like to support St. Mark Youth Ministry in this way, please sign up using this website: http://smyouth.wufoo.com/forms/eikon-pizza-donation/. The total cost of pizzas for one Sunday is only $32. You’ll be given more information on the what, where, and how once you sign up.

High School – Eikon

Eikon is the high-school aged ministry at St. Mark. We meet weekly on Sunday nights from 5:30 – 7:30pm in the St. Mark youth room. From 5:30 – 6:00, we share a meal of pizza and from 6:00 – 7:30 we do any number of things, including playing games, doing Bible studies, doing service projects, praying together, and building our relationships with one another.
Eikon students also participate in several “extra-curricular” activities throughout the year, including Church Youth Fest, which is an annual gathering of high school students from across the Midwest at Luther College for a weekend of workshops, worship, and fun!
Summer Mission Trips
Every summer, the high school youth participate in a mission trip that is largely funded via fundraising efforts and the support of our congregation. In the summer of 2008, thirteen students and three adults traveled to Red Lake, Minnesota and spent a week painting and repairing homes on the Indian reservation. Check out the video to the left for a glimpse into what a day is like on a St. Mark mission trip.
Jr High School – CREW
CREW is the junior high and Confirmation ministry at St. Mark. Begin the evening by joining your family for dinner starting at 5:30pm in the St. Mark Fellowship Hall. From 6:00-7:30pm on Wednesday evenings during the school year, 7th and 8th graders are invited to join us for Confirmation. Evenings consist of large group games, learning, and small group fellowship. It’s a terrific opportunity to learn more about your faith with your friends. 9th grade students are confirmed in the fall each year on All Saints Sunday.

CREW students also participate in several “extra-curricular” activities throughout the year, including BLITZ (an all-night event that includes bowling, floor hockey, roller-skating, pizza, etc.), the 30-hour famine, and Staff Search Party. These are wonderful ways to have tons of fun with your friends and build community.
